The Awakening in Gstaad
In the late autumn of 2020, Tony, an electric drivetrain engineer, drove a fuel-powered off-road vehicle into the mountains of Gstaad, Switzerland. The long-anticipated Alpine off-road experience turned into an awkward arrival.
The roar of the engine echoed violently through the valley, startling flocks of birds into flight. Acrid exhaust fumes billowed from the tailpipe, wrapping the air like a greasy veil—cutting him off from the scent of alpine meadows, the depth of pine forests, and the crispness of glaciers. Tony rolled down the window, yearning for a deep breath of the Swiss air—only to be driven back by the stench of burning fuel. When he stopped the car and tried to listen to the wind, the ground still trembled beneath his feet from the engine's vibration.
In that moment, standing beside his vehicle, he felt an invisible wall between himself and the nature before him. It struck him: We come here to get closer to nature—yet we push her away with noise and pollution. We call ourselves explorers—but we arrive as intruders.
An Engineer's Decision
As an engineer with years of experience in electric drivetrain systems, Tony understood the potential of electric power. The instant torque of an electric motor is inherently suited for off-road climbing—and its silence and cleanness hold the key to reconciling with nature.
He began to ask: Could we build an electric all-terrain vehicle that allows humans to truly approach nature as guests—not intruders?
The Birth of BSTABO
After countless days and nights of technological breakthroughs, Tony founded BSTABO—a brand dedicated to electric all-terrain vehicles.
